Bodybuilder Justyn Vicky, aged 33, tragically passed away in a weightlifting accident while exercising at The Paradise Gym in Bali. During his workout, Vicky attempted to lift a massive weight of around 180 kilograms (almost 400 pounds) while having a spotter behind him.
Regrettably, he couldn’t complete the lift, causing him to lose balance and fall forward. As a result, the heavy barbell slipped off his shoulders, violently jerking his head and neck forward. The impact from the weight broke his neck and affected the nerves connected to his heart and respiratory systems, leading to critical injuries.
Immediate medical attention was sought, and Vicky was rushed to the hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he couldn’t recover from the severe injuries and ultimately passed away.
Kang Gede, a close friend of Vicky, expressed his sorrow and shared fond memories, describing Vicky as a kind, polite, and sociable person. Gede mentioned how Vicky always emphasized the importance of exercising within one’s capabilities and warned others not to exceed their limits. He hoped that Vicky would find peace with God and be laid to rest in a suitable place.
The Paradise Bali Gym, where Vicky trained, paid a heartfelt tribute to him on their Instagram account. They remembered him not only as a fitness expert but also as a source of inspiration, motivation, and unwavering support.
