Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada) is inviting applications for a Short-Term Visiting Scholar position for a three-week period between May 5 and June 17, 2025. The successful candidate will teach a module on the EU’s regional cooperation mechanisms as part of an advanced undergraduate/graduate course titled The EU, Russia, and China: Competing Regionalism in Eurasia.
This course is offered by the Institute of European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (EURUS) at Carleton University.

Key Responsibilities:
The Visiting Scholar will be responsible for:
- Teaching a module on the EU’s regional cooperation mechanisms, consisting of six 3-hour sessions.
- Creating the course outline for the module and assessing student work (both written and oral).
- Providing consultation and support to students during the module.
- Delivering a research lecture at the Centre for European Studies on a topic related to the EU as a regional actor.
Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be based at an academic institution in an EU member state.
- Hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Have a record of publications in a related area and relevant teaching experience.
- Have an active research program related to EU External Relations.
Remuneration and Support:
- Travel Expenses (airfare, ground transportation, visa/work permit) will be reimbursed up to CAD $2,500.
- Subsistence Expenses (accommodation, meal allowances, and local transportation) will be reimbursed up to CAD $7,000.
- A stipend will cover travel, accommodation expenses, and a fee for teaching the module.
