Hilda Baci has achieved remarkable feats in her career, including holding the Guinness World Record for marathon cooking, a notable accomplishment. Additionally, in August 2021, she emerged as the winner of the highly competitive “Jollof Faceoff” competition.

Hilda Baci hails from the Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, and was born on September 20, 1995. She pursued a degree in sociology from Madonna University, Okija, demonstrating her commitment to a well-rounded education.

While her passion for cooking ignited at a young age, influenced by her talented mother, she embraced a culinary education journey, honing her skills and developing a unique style.

Hilda Baci: The Record-Breaking Attempt

In March 2023, Hilda Baci made an exciting announcement regarding her intention to challenge the record for the longest cooking marathon. The previous record was held by Lata Tondon, who achieved a cooking marathon lasting 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019.

On May 11, 2023, Hilda commenced her record attempt titled “Cook-a-thon.” Determined and focused, she embarked on her culinary journey to break the previous record. On May 15, at 7:45 am, Hilda successfully surpassed the previous record, cooking for an astonishing 87 hours and 50 minutes, exceeding the previous record by 5 minutes.

Originally aiming for a 96-hour cooking marathon, Hilda later extended her goal to a remarkable 100 hours of non-stop cooking, seeking to establish a new benchmark for culinary endurance.

Throughout her impressive feat, Hilda received visits from notable individuals such as the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lead Pastor of Harvester International, Bolaji Idowu, and renowned Nigerian artists Tiwa Savage, Tim Godfrey, and Ice Prince. The Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, also reached out to offer his support and encouragement during the cookathon.

Hilda garnered immense support from her fans and well-wishers, who flocked to the cookathon venue, and her name trended across social media platforms, reflecting the widespread admiration and enthusiasm she generated during her extraordinary cooking endeavour.

Ememobong Ettete, the Chief Operating Officer of Dana Air, recently made an announcement via the company’s official Twitter handle. In the statement, Ettete acknowledged Hilda Baci’s remarkable achievement of surpassing the current world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

As a gesture of appreciation and encouragement, Dana Air has decided to provide Hilda Baci with one year of free flight tickets for her local travels.
