The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Friday, approved the appointment of Dr Adebayo Faforiji as the new Alamuye of Amuye Faforiji in Atakunmosa East Local Government Area of the state.
Faforiji on PUNCH Reports
Faforiji served as the state Commissioner for Works in the administration of Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola between 2003 and 2010.
The Director of Chieftaincy, Basiru Oladipupo, in a letter on behalf of the Coordinating Director of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Femi Ogundun, obtained in Osogbo on Friday, explained that the approval was made in accordance with Section 20, sub-section (1) of the Chief’s Law (cap.25) Laws of the Osun State.
The government, therefore, enjoined the monarch to work with other royal fathers to sustain peace and the progress of the state.
“The stool of Amuye Faforiji became vacant on 20th June 2010 and after the process, the kingmakers of the town unanimously selected Prince Adebayo Faforiji as the Alamuye elect of Amuye Faforiji on 6th September 2013.
“Unfortunately, previous administrations refused to confirm his appointment as the monarch of the town until His Excellency, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, did the needful in response to the yearning of the people of Amuye Faforiji,” the statement read.
This has been the wish of literarily every person living in Amuye Faforiji. Dr Faforiji has an in-depth experience with the peopling of the city, performing leadership for over a decade before his recent appointment. This is a dream come true for the peopling of Faforiji and the birth of a new era!
In this lieu, TADEXPROF.com seeks to consult the new Alamuye of Amuye Faforiji for the provision of needful oral traditions and other primary sources of historical records for the virtual reproduction of the “History of Amuye Faforiji.” Congratulations to the Oba.
