Dr. Olufunmilayo Harvey Not Found Guilty Of Rape Accusations
Dr. Olufunmilayo Harvey, a well-known Nigerian medical practitioner, has been acquitted of rape accusations made by his ex-girlfriend after a three-year ordeal in the United Kingdom.
The doctor had taken a social media break for personal reasons but was faced with false allegations of rape, leading to involvement with the UK’s Metropolitan Police. After a thorough investigation, the UK Police found no substantial evidence to support the claims, leading to Dr. Olufunmilayo’s clearance.
In a grateful response on Twitter, he thanked everyone for their support during this difficult time.
The story of the allegations and false accusations against Dr. Olufunmilayo was shared on social media. It involved his ex-girlfriend, Dr. Bolanle Aseyan, who had met him on Twitter in 2019, and they fell in love.
She requested to come to the UK during the COVID-19 pandemic, which he agreed to, paying for her flight and providing for her during her stay. Their relationship soured due to her behaviour, and he decided to end it.
In response, Dr. Bolanle Aseyan accused him of rape and domestic violence, leading to his arrest and investigation.
However, the claims were found to be false, and the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) declared Dr. Olufunmilayo innocent and fit to continue practising medicine.
