Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a citizen of a developing country.
  2. Commit to pursuing a one-year full-time Master’s program in an eligible field.
  3. Hold or expect to hold a Bachelor’s degree equivalent to a UK Upper Second Class Honours degree by September 2025.
  4. Meet the University’s English language requirements by February 3, 2025, if English is not their first language.
  5. Not have undertaken studies lasting one year or more in a developed country.
  6. Demonstrate financial need and lack of resources to fund studies independently.
  7. Be eligible to pay fees at the International rate.

Scholarship Benefits

Recipients of the Ferguson Scholarship will receive:

  • Full tuition fee coverage
  • A maintenance allowance of £16,664
  • Economy return travel expenses
  • Additional allowances

Application Process

Follow these steps to apply:

  1. Visit the scholarship webpage using the provided link.
  2. Submit an application for a relevant taught Master’s program at the University of Leeds.
  3. Obtain a Student Application Number after completing your program application.
  4. Use your Student Application Number to fill out the online scholarship application form.

Selection Process:

  • Each eligible school will shortlist candidates.
  • The University of Leeds Scholarship Selection Panel will finalize the successful applicants.
  • Unsuccessful candidates will be notified approximately four weeks after the application deadline.
  • Shortlisted applicants will receive a decision within ten weeks of the deadline.
