Leadership Insights
“Achieving the highest completion factor in December in Canada at 98.7% during the peak holiday season is a proud moment for us,” said Maciej Wilk, Interim CEO at Flair Airlines.
“Winter is a challenging time for all carriers, but we delivered one of our best performances in years. Our unwavering focus on reliability ensured that Canadians could count on us to get them to their destinations.”
December On-Time Performance Metrics
Even amidst the notoriously harsh Canadian winter, Flair Airlines maintained a solid on-time performance (OTP). While Flair’s OTP ranked mid-range among Canadian airlines, it demonstrated resilience and operational efficiency under difficult conditions. The December OTP results for major carriers were as follows:
- WestJet: 66.9%
- Air Canada: 62.9%
- Flair Airlines: 60.3%
- Porter Airlines: 56.4%
Furthermore, 90% of Flair’s flights arrived within 60 minutes of their scheduled time, underscoring the airline’s dedication to minimizing delays. This performance aligns with Flair’s newly introduced On-Time Guarantee (OTG) program, which compensates passengers for excessive delays.
“Despite the challenges posed by winter weather, our commitment to reliability allowed us to reduce delays and fulfill our OTG promise,” added Wilk.
Pioneering Sustainable Aviation
Flair Airlines also continues to lead the way in sustainable aviation. The airline recorded a CO2 emission rate of 89.56 grams per revenue passenger mile (g/RPM) in 2024, reflecting its efforts to minimize its environmental impact. By optimizing routes and improving operational efficiency, Flair demonstrates its commitment to eco-friendly practices.
“Sustainability is a cornerstone of our operations,” said Wilk. “We strive to provide Canadians with affordable air travel while being mindful of our environmental responsibilities.”
Flair’s December load factor of 87.3% further illustrates its success in attracting and retaining passengers. The airline’s ability to combine affordability, dependability, and sustainability continues to set it apart as an industry leader.
