The Knight-Hennessy Scholarship program at Stanford University offers 100 fully funded scholarships for international students to pursue graduate degrees, including Masters, Ph.D., MS, MBA, MFA, MD, and JD. Stanford, ranked 2 in the QS World Universities Ranking 2022, aims to attract future leaders from various disciplines and countries.

Scholars will engage in multidisciplinary education, leadership development, and gain a global perspective.

  • Additional Requirements: Must apply and be accepted to a full-time Stanford graduate program

Application Instructions

  1. Create an Account: Start your online application.
  2. Submit Application: Provide personal and academic information.
  3. Required Documents:
    • Unofficial or self-reported transcripts
    • Resume (one page per decade of experience after secondary school)
    • Two recommendation letters
    • Essay (up to 1,750 words total for both essays)
      • How have your life influences shaped you?
      • How will Stanford and the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program support your goals?
    • Two short-answer responses
      • Eight improbable facts about you
      • Three current goals/objectives
    • Video story (maximum two minutes)
  4. In-Person Assessment: If selected, you will participate in an in-person assessment.
