Logos Olori – Jaye Lo |Muslims Slam Davido for Anti-Islamic Video

Logos Olori (real name, Olamilekan Emeka Taiwo) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer. He was born and raised in Ajegunle area of Lagos state. Logos is a new signee of DMW (Davido Music Worldwide) record label.

As of today, Logos Olori is facing accusations of showing disrespect towards the Islamic religion through a snippet of their recently released music track titled “Jaye Lo.” The controversial snippet was uploaded approximately 20 hours ago, and it has drawn significant attention and criticism from the Muslim community.

The music video features a cast of Muslim individuals, and several Arabic words are incorporated into the song. Unfortunately, these elements have been perceived by some members of the Muslim community as derogatory and deeply disrespectful to their faith.

The situation has sparked a heated debate on social media and other platforms, with many Muslims expressing their disappointment and outrage over what they view as an insensitive portrayal of their religion.

They argue that using their faith and language in a manner that could be construed as offensive is unacceptable and goes against the principles of mutual understanding and respect between different cultures and beliefs.

Amidst the controversy, some individuals have called for the artist to issue a public apology and take necessary actions to rectify the situation.

Others are demanding that the offending content be removed entirely to prevent any further harm or misunderstanding.

What is Wrong with the Video?

The music itself is un-Islamic, using religious wear, offering Muslim solah (prayer) and the Muslim cast dancing to the hip-hop in full religious wear all seem irritating to the Muslims.

Many people expect Davido to put down the video as there were thousands of voices against the video. However, the video keeps going viral.

The artist, their management team, and the production company behind the music video have not yet issued an official statement in response to the accusations. The situation remains fluid as both supporters and critics continue to voice their opinions on the matter.

In a world that celebrates diversity, it is crucial for artists and content creators to be mindful of the potential impact their work may have on various communities, cultures, and religions.

Respect and understanding for different beliefs should be at the forefront of any creative endeavour to ensure a harmonious coexistence among all individuals, regardless of their backgrounds.
