Marine biologists had discovered a yellow brick road on the top undersea mountain near Hawaii, a constituent state of the United States of America at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
The rocks are simply evocative of varieties of fictional Atlantis and it was discovered on April 29, 2022. The new discovery has left different scientists and researchers stunned and appalled as various researchers reacting to it.
It should be noted that the yellow rocks are split apart with neat 90-degree angles from a narrow strip and which seems it was carved and designed artificially.
However, the yellow brick road was a fictional element in the 1900 children’s novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by American author L. Frank Baum”. Consequently, the road appeared in several sequels Oz books such as The Marvelous Land of Oz (1904) and The Patchwork Girl of Oz (1913).
The road is paved with yellow bricks leading to its destination, Emerald city, as described in the novel. The brick road is featured in the classic MGM musical film, of 1939, The Wizard of Oz which is based on Baum’s first Oz book.
In the first edition of the novel, the road is referred to as the “Road of Yellow Bricks”. Meanwhile, the researcher made it known that; the paved roadway was an original outcome of ancient volcanic activity thousands of feet below the water.
Moreover, the brick-like dichotomy between the rocks appeared to be the unexpected result of heating as well as cooling which range from various volcanic eruptions some years back.
The researchers made a veer down to the eerie undersea road in the course of handling a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) in the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument, a reserved area that surrounds the 582,578 square miles (1,508,870 square kilometres) of the Pacific Ocean Northwest of Hawaii.
The experience is part of the Ocean Exploration Trust’s Nautilus Exploration Program which intends to dig deep into the aged seamounts that are not far from Lili’uokalani Ridge, at the monument’s western edge.
The team’s main target is to garner geological samples in the seamounts area, and the underwater mountains to have a vivid explanation of their ages and etymology.
The researchers also noted that learning the newly discovered yellow brick road will create new insights into the creation of the Hawaiian Islands and also aid the collection of microbial samples, to examine the various oddballs that organisms have nurtured to live near the deep, underwater volcanoes of the Pacific.
The researchers disclosed that their exploration of the newly discovered area had helped researchers take a deeper look at life on and within the rocky slopes of the deep, ancient seamounts.
