1963: OAU Founded

Representatives of 30 of the 32 independent nations of Africa met in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to create the Organization of African Unity (OAU).

An outgrowth of the Pan-Africanist movement started by W. E. B. Du Bois and other African-American intellectuals, the OAU aimed to promote unity among African nations. Headquarters were established in Addis Ababa.

Tadese Faforiji

Tadese Faforiji is the founder of Tadexprof, a travel and nature site covering world's destinations worth visiting. He started the site covering local travel in Nigeria and has since expanded it into US national park guides, with plans to document more of the world firsthand going forward.
