The Nike Art Gallery, Akoda-Ede was recently commissioned by Governor Ademola Adeleke in April 2025. The gallery stands as a dynamic celebration of Nigeria’s artistic spirit, blending tradition and creativity under one roof.

In this blog, I will provide important information and details about the art gallery. This post and personal review may be of help to potential tourists planning to visit the gallery.

Location

Situated along the Gbongan/Ibadan Road in Akoda, Ede, the new complex is the latest addition to the growing network of Nike Art Galleries founded by the celebrated artist and textile designer Nike Davies-Okundaye.

Known globally for her work in reviving the traditional Yoruba Adire (tie-dye) textile craft, Davies-Okundaye’s vision continues to inspire a new generation of artists and cultural enthusiasts.

The Display

It’s a cultural hub designed to spotlight Nigerian art, craft, and heritage. There are numerous art works and designs in display. It sparks creativity and enriches one’s passion for heritage.

With its vibrant displays and dedication to local artistry, the gallery enriches Osun State’s already rich creative landscape and reinforces its identity as a key center of Yoruba art and tradition.

Governor Adeleke, during the commissioning, praised Nike Davies-Okundaye for her lifelong dedication to promoting Nigerian culture and empowering artists through her creative network.
