VR Game Lounge

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of diving into virtual reality at VR Game Lounge in Osogbo, and it was an experience worth sharing.

When most people think of visiting Osogbo, the first things that come to mind are the historic Sacred Groves or the artistic legacy of the Nike Art Centre. But on my last trip, I decided to swap the ancient for the futuristic.

I spent my weekend diving into virtual reality at the VR Game Lounge in Osogbo, and it was an experience that proved tourism in Nigeria is evolving way beyond just sightseeing.

I didn’t expect to be so blown away. Virtual Reality (VR) is becoming a massive travel trend globally, with high-tech lounges popping up, and seeing this level of tech in Osogbo was impressive.

The moment the headset went on, the real world vanished. I went from standing in a room in Osun State to being fully “locked in” to a digital universe.

Whether I was dodging obstacles in a high-speed car racing game or fighting off enemies in a tactical shooter, the immersion was 10/10. It’s the kind of “crazy virtual adventure” that makes you forget where your physical feet are standing.

Why This Spot is a Must-Visit

In the travel world, we often talk about “vibe” and “service,” and this lounge nailed both:

Variety: They have a solid range of games. If you’re a fan of racing, their car simulators offer a rush that feels surprisingly real.

The Atmosphere: The space was neat, well-organized, and had that sleek, modern aesthetic you’d find in a premium gaming hub in the US.

The Staff: The team there was incredibly chill. They guided me through the gear, making sure everything worked perfectly so I could focus on the game.

Travel Tip

If you are planning a trip through Southwest Nigeria—maybe heading from the Go-Kart tracks in Ibadan to the Natural History Museum in Ile-Ife—Osogbo is the perfect middle stop.

While Osogbo is famous for its “Old World” history, spots like the VR Game Lounge represent the “New World.” It’s a great place to cool off, grab some digital thrills, and see a different side of the city’s social life.
