If you ever visit Ibadan, make sure to stop by the Oodua Museum and Hall of Fame. It is located at the top of Cocoa House, the first skyscraper in Africa, built in 1965. Cocoa House is a special building because it was built using money made from cocoa and other farm products, showing the strength of Nigeria’s farming history.
Cocoa House is located in Dugbe, a bustling commercial district in the heart of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. The building stands prominently along Liebu Bypass, near Waroaden Street.
Inside the museum, you’ll find many interesting things that tell the story of the Yoruba people. There are old tools, traditional clothes, musical instruments, and beautiful carvings. Each item shows how the Yoruba lived and worked in the past.

The museum is open from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It costs ₦1,000 to enter. Besides the history, you also get to enjoy a great view of Ibadan city from the top of Cocoa House.
